SEASON 67 GRADUATING SENIORS
As we close out season 67 we would like to spotlight our graduating seniors. Congratulations and thank you for creating fabulous music with SYS!

Iván Aguilar-Tomás – Percussion
Iván was a member of SYS for four years playing percussion in Philharmonia and Youth Symphony. In addition to playing percussion he was a valuable SYS stagehand during the 2021-2022 concert season. Iván graduated from North Salem High School and will be attending the University of Oregon in the fall.
SYS Memory: “Favorite memories is playing Capriccio Espagnol and Pictures at an Exhibition.” -Iván Aguilar-Tomás
Ian Clawson – Tuba
Ian was a member of Youth Symphony for 2 years. He graduated from South Salem High School and will be attending Grinnell College to study a topic in the STEM field. While at Grinnell College he will continue to play tuba and will be a member of the track and field team.
SYS Memory: “I have not been in SYS long, but it was always nice that Mr. Harris-Clippinger and other members of the symphony always checked to see how I was doing and made sure I felt included. Every rehearsal I felt I was meant to be there and was greeted with a smile each time.” -Ian Clawson
Madison Cuff-Wilson – Violin
Madison participated in SYS for three and a half years. Se was a member of Philharmonia and Youth Symphony. Madison was concertmaster for Youth Symphony during the 2021-2022 concert season. She graduated from South Salem High School and will be attending the University of Oregon to study Human Physiology.
SYS Memory: “Going to Bend on the Children’s Concert was the last trip I went on for Youth Symphony. And it was so fun playing for the kids and then bowling afterwards. I remember looking forward to the trip we were supposed to go on two years ago and it was the day before Covid shut down everything.” -Madison Cuff-Wilson
Avery Horner – French Horn
Avery participated in SYS for one year playing French horn in Youth Symphony. She graduated from Silverton High School and will study at Oregon State University in the fall.
SYS Memory: “Meeting the other french horn players and becoming great friends.” -Avery Horner
Saeeda Ibrahim – Violin
Saeeda participated in SYS for three years. She was a member of Amadeus and Philharmonia. She graduated from North Salem High School and will be attending Western Oregon University to study psychology with the hope of becoming a psychologist somewhere in the Middle East or North Africa.
SYS Memory: “Getting to see my friends and perform together for the first time after quarantine. It was nice to perform again after being in lockdown for nearly two years.” -Saeeda Ibrahim
Nicohlas Pajela – Trumpet
Nicohlas was a member of Youth Symphony for one year playing trumpet. He graduated from Woodburn Arts and Communications Academy and will be attending George Fox University where he will major in Biology and minor in Music.
SYS Memory: “Side by side at the Elsinore, it was nice to be performing with peers at a very nice venue!” -Nicohlas Pajela
Daniel Corona Ramos – Trumpet
Daniel played trumpet in Youth Symphony for three years. He graduated from McKay High School and will be attending the University of Oregon in the fall.
SYS Memory: “When the trumpets stood up and preformed Stars and Stripes together also performing Pictures.” -Daniel Corona Ramos
Harper Rossman – Bass
Harper was a member of SYS for five years playing bass in Philharmonia and Youth Symphony. She graduated from South Salem High School and will be attending Northern Arizona University in the fall.
SYS Memory: “I remember buying fudge in Newport on our trip with Philharmonia to play for the younger kids and running along the beach in the rain! And digging holes in the beach in my dress shoes. I spent a lot of great time with my friends in SYS over the years.” -Harper Rossman
