Future Plans: I plan to study music education at Portland State University.
Special Memory: I enjoyed playing Dvorak’s 8th symphony at the winter concert.
Bianca Costea – cello

Future Plans: I plan to double major in human physiology and cello performance.

Future Plans: Studying aviation in college.
Special Memory: My school doesn’t have an orchestra so it’s been awesome getting to play with other musicians and meet new friends!
Brycen Martin – Viola

Future Plans: I will be across the country studying electrical engineering at Boston University.
Special Memory: I don’t have one specific memory. Rather, I just loved the entire experience. I joined SYS this year to get experience with harder literature, and found myself meeting one of the best groups of people. Getting to know and interact with everyone was one of my highlights for this year, and I had such a great experience with SYS. From being target practice for Mr. Harris-Clippinger to antique shopping in Newport, SYS was an incredible community, and I am so happy that I joined it, even if only for this year.
Noah Mayer – violin

Future Plans: I have a Full-ride scholarship to Northern Illinois University where I will be majoring in Visual Impairment Special Education.
Special Memory: The Amadeus retreat and ice cream sundaes at the first rehearsal in the fall!
Wyatt Watson – horn

School: West Salem High School
Future Plans: I plan to attend Oregon State University and perform with the OSU Wind Ensemble.
Special Memory: A special memory of mine from SYS would be both of the two years I was at the Newport children’s concert. It was always great to play music for the little kids that were there. I kind of went there figuring that they weren’t going to be very interested but then at the end of every song they all seemed so happy and it was really sweet. Walking around the town and the beach with all my friends was a great time as well.
